Carmelo Di Bartolo
 

Industrial designer, was born in 1953 and lives in Milan.
He has worked with Giotto Stoppino, Adalberto Dal Lago and Renzo Piano.

He founded the Centre of Research of the European Institute of Design, CRIED in 1982 and directed it until 1998.
He was the director of the European Institute of Design in Milan and Madrid, and later director of Research and Development IED


He taught at the Milan Polytechnic from 2001 to 2005.
He carries out an intense activity as visiting professor and lecturer at international universities and research centres.
He has been a Professor at the Faculté de l’Aménagement Ecole de Design Industriel at the University of Montreal in Canada since 2003.

With M.Pino, he founded Molina Betancor, Design Innovation, and research laboratory in advanced design in 1998, designing innovative strategic plans for businesses and public bodies, with offices in Milan, Las Palmas G.C. and from this year in Santiago in Chile.
In this context he directs projects and research for: CRF_Fiat Research Centre, Fiat Auto, Piaggio, the Indesit Company, Tensoforma, Mancomunidad del Sureste de Gran Canaria, Endesa, Ariete,
Rosss, Triennial of Milan, etc…
